Day 4

I guess it kind of sucks being in a foreign country by yourself, because there is nobody there to share your experiences with. : (

Today I went to the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes in Recoleta, and then went to the Feria Artesanal in the Plaza Francia, right across from the museum. The museum entrance was free, and had an interesting collection of Argentine art. It was a nice place to spend the late morning.

I then went to the Basílica Nuestra Señora del Pilar, which is right where the Feria Artesanal was going on. The exterior is pretty simple yet elegant, while the interior is rather richly decorated.

The feria had a lot of hand-made objects and goods made by the vendors themselves– lots of knit items, mate gourds, leather goods, and jewelry.
